We never thought we’d say this about a piece of cookware, but Readymade’s Weekender Japanese Dutch Oven is a functional thing of beauty. Designed by Yoshida Kigata and built by hand in Fukuoka, Japan, with heavy-duty cast iron, this rectangular dutch oven has the added benefit of holding steam more efficiently to cook evenly. At 13.4″ x 6.1″ with a weight of 5.3lb, it’s not out of the question to use this pretty piece of cookware in all the places it was intended: on the stove, in the oven, on the grill, covered in coals or even on a campfire. The Readymade Weekender even has an optional lifter made with stainless steel and Horween chromexcel leather to make removing it from the heat source without mitts easily.
