Turn Cinder Blocks into Speakers with Cinder Speakers

Turn Cinder Blocks into Speakers with Cinder Speakers

Add some classy design, DIY flair and a damn cool pair of bookshelf speakers to your home with Cinder Speakers. Designed by Daniel Ballou (who was also responsible for those desktop ceramic cargo containers) to leverage the low resonance and vibration reducing properties of concrete without having to worry about its weight and lack of portability, Cinder Speakers turn any cinder blocks into speakers worthy of display. The system uses a front and rear fascia that’s pre-wired, pre-assembled and sandwiches your cinder blocks inside with bolts. The front of the speaker includes a 5” driver, tweeter, crossover and input jack while the back seals the enclosure. Cinder Speakers are in the fine-tuning stage, so you still have some time to find some free cinder blocks.
