From Apollo 11 Stamps and Hip Hop Stamps, to Scratch-and-Sniff Stamps and Eames Stamps, the United States Postal Service has always delivered on their hundreds of year’s old creed of “neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stats these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” That creed has evolved in the centuries since it was created, but the end result is the same–deliver the mail, regardless of the stamp, to where it’s going. This is incredibly influential when it comes to both Star Wars and space travel because humanity has reached the heavens even if it wasn’t quite in the way we had imagined by now. In terms of these stamps, the droids featured are IG-11, R2-D2, K-2SO, D-O, L3-37, BB-8, C-3PO, a GNK (or Gonk) power droid, 2-1B surgical droid and C1-10P, commonly known as “Chopper.” All 10 of the Star Wars Droid-Inspired character stamps will be released this Spring.
