This Jaguar XJ13 Reproduction Is Identical to the Original Built for Le Mans in the 1960s

When anyone talks about Le Mans in the 1960s the conversation always goes to Ford vs. Ferrari because the story of the GT40 versus the 330 P3 is the stuff that Hollywood blockbusters starring the likes of Matt Damon and Christian Bale are made of. But the spectacle of one of the greatest motorsport rivalries of all time led to one unfortunate consequence–overlooking the single Jaguar XJ13 prototype that was also created in the mid 1960s to compete at Le Mans. For the record, this is not that car. What this is is a 1966 Jaguar XJ13 recreation built by New Zealand based Rob Tempero that’s identical to the original down to the last nut and rivet. More importantly, this one is actually for sale during RM Sotheby’s Monterey Auction in the middle of August this year. Mid-engine V12 under glass. Impeccable green paint job and bodywork.
