We’ll be the first to admit there’s no such thing as bad pizza. When you want the absolute best at home, you want a dedicated pizza oven. Ooni–formerly Uuni–made waves with their dedicated pizza ovens that could perfectly cook a Neapolitan style in under 2 minutes. Ooni has continued iterating over the years which led to the creation of the Ooni Karu 16, their most advanced pizza oven yet. Karu has been almost completely redesigned from the ground up with a sleeker silhouette, improved insulation, and weather resistance. Those kinds of upgrades increase the maximum temp to 950°F which means cook time is cut down to just a minute. These are obviously the most important aspects when it comes to creating pizza, but we love the newly added features almost as much. The open-face or pull-out drawer have been replaced with a fold-down glass oven door so you can see what you’re cooking. And there’s a mounted digital thermometer. The Karu 16 is also a multi-fuel oven which means it can be used with wood, charcoal, or even gas (with a separate burner). As if that wasn’t enough, the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana recognized it as the first and only ‘Recommended for Domestic Use’ pizza oven.
