We’ve seen everything from houses and hotels to workshops and offices built out those gigantic shipping containers that we all know and love, but never anything like what Modpools is doing. Modpools makes pools out of shipping containers. The idea doesn’t even seem all that crazy when you actually think about it. Shipping containers are built to stand up to just about anything while being rigid enough to maintain their shape regardless of what the elements throw at them. They’re also movable. Modpools uses that combination of structural rigidity and ease of movement to create a patent-pending pool that can be setup in minutes and can be relocated if you decide you want to change the location. Each pool can be configured to your individual needs so you can have that underwater viewing window you always wanted, along with a removable divider that can easily convert your pool into a hot-tub and back again. As if that isn’t enough, Modpools are built with smartphone controls for temperature, jets and lighting. The pool of the future is here.

Vaer has been one of our favorite watchmakers for as long as we can remember because they produce new, classic watches based on iconic designs. Case in point, the Vaer G5 Meridian watch you see here. This timepiece is a 1950s-inspired 20ATM automatic watch that’s USA-assembled, dual timezone, built with ocean-ready functionality, self-winding and the brand’s first true GMT (the latest version of their core dive watch design). What’s more, it pays homage to other watches that are incredibly more expensive or hard to come by whilst also adding new aspects that makes this Vaer G5 Meridian watch more desirable than the other options in our opinion.
