When an in-ground pool is just too mundane for you, Compass Pools has the answer with its plan to build a rooftop pool to outdo all pools. The square infinity pool is encased in thick, clear acrylic on all sides, as well as the bottom, and will sit atop a 55-story luxury hotel in London for swimmings to gaze and be gazed upon. In case you’re wondering how to get into the pool, it doesn’t involve a helicopter drop but instead will use a self-enclosed rotating spiral staircase that rises from the floor of the pool for ingress and egress. The pool will also be illuminated at night with changing colors and provide illumination during the day like a skylight to those below. We’re curious to see how water draining and replacement will be managed, as well as curious birds. We can at least be sure there will be absolutely no diving in this pool. Construction of this ambitious project is planned for 2020.
