Affectionately referred to as Hotel Trainspotting, the Artikul Container Hotel is situated between the Elbe river and a busy railway line in the Czech Republic. The small, boutique hotel uses a combination of recycled shipping containers and modern building materials to create a space that is equal parts modern design and classic construction. Upstairs, you’ll find a terrace and four separate rooms decked out with bunk beds, wooden walls, patio furniture and full-size queen beds, depending on which room you’re staying in. Downstairs, you’ll find bathrooms, a utility room, storage room and another guest room with a giant window at one end of the container and a porthole window on the door. The entire Artikul Container Hotel—like everything else the upstart architectural brand is responsible for—is made with sustainable, environmentally friendly materials that perfectly blend design, construction and a modern aesthetic.
