The Z-Triton Combines a Tricycle and Amphibious Tiny House

We’ve seen quite a few impressive bicycles and even tricycles over the years. We’ve also seen more than our fair share of eclectic tiny houses. The Z-Triton from Zeltini is the first combination of the two we’ve seen, and even more impressively, it’s also an amphibious vehicle. Designed and built by Latvian architect Aigars Lauzis as the perfect, sustainable expedition vehicle for two travelers looking a weekend of fun, the Z-Triton is equal parts electric tricycle, tiny home and boat. It starts as a bicycle with house/boat on the rear that you can easily drive around like you would a normal bike. When you’re ready to take to the water, the wheels fold up and you drive the entire contraption from the opposite end. With enough juice for up to 25 miles on land or about 19 miles on the water–along with bench seating, a sleeping area and a kitchen inside–you could comfortably get an entire weekend of adventuring in. The Z-Triton is just a prototype right now, but the company expects to start rolling them out for purchase and rental in 2021.
