Filson is a name you’re definitely familiar with because they’ve been producing high-quality goods and gear for what seems like forever. The N.M. Bachtel Forging Co. is a name you might not be not familiar with unless you’re into the knife-making circles, but it’s a name that carries as much weight in that world as Filson does. Bachtel normally works on only a few custom pieces at a time, but Filson managed to tap to him for seriously good-looking Filson x N.M. Bachtel Forging Co. Woodsman’s Knife. The full-tang, straight-back blade is hand-forged from 1084 high-carbon steel and tempered to 60HRC hardness for outstanding edge retention. That all-purpose and durable blade is combined with a stabilized curly maple handle and completed with a classic gunstock finish. The Filson-exclusive, limited-edition knife also includes a hand-stitched leather sheath for easy carrying, which is just one more reason it’s one of our new favorite fixed blade knives.
