From USB ports to beer catapults, we’ve seen a lot of new features added to coolers over the past few years. When it comes down to it though, not much has changed, because coolers still require ice or electricity to keep your supplies cold. Until now! The Fenik Yuma 60L is an ingenious new cooler that uses water and evaporative cooling instead of ice or power. Separate the two flat sides (which also make it incredibly easy to carry). Pop in the four fiberglass support rods. Fill the walls with water. Add food and beer. Enjoy your trip. What kind of sorcery gets your beers to a refreshing temperature and keeps your food from spoiling? The walls are made of a special material called PhaseTek. When water evaporates through the walls, it also draws heat out from the interior to cool it down. They’ve spent four years developing, testing and refining the product in emerging markets and remote areas, so there’s an element of social good as well. If the project reaches its funding goal, delivery is estimated in March of next year.
