HODINKEE is, has been, and will always be one of our favorite sites to read because of their dedication to serious watch coverage. That said, we can’t always afford the timepieces that international superstars like contributors John Mayer and Ed Sheeran wear on their wrists, which is why we’re so enthralled with the affordable collaborations they do with the likes of Swatch and others. Their latest is the HODINKEE Swatch Sistem51 Generation 1986 that blends an all black exterior and case with contrasting numeral and dial markers to create a timepiece that’s fun and functional while still remaining seriously stylish. It’s a watch that any man would want to strap on with a full monkey suit or just while wearing a pair of jeans and a tee, but unfortunately, the $170 watch sold out almost instantly like all other HODINKEE collaboration watches. If you want one, you’ll have to jump on the waitlist and hope your number comes up in the future like the rest of us.
