C & T Auctioneers recently held a military collectibles auction that gave a few lucky individuals the chance to own World War II era spy gadgets. Yes, actual spy gadgets. The auction had a total of eight different lots filled with everything you’d need to launch a successful spy career except for a hideout, well cut suit and an expensive sports car. The S.O.E. (that’s Special Operations Executive aka “Churchill’s Secret Army”) Agents Assassination Pen Dagger is a functional fountain pen with a concealed dagger. The Special Forces Escape Utility Knife is basically a precursor to the Leatherman except it had hacksaw blades and a tire slasher blade. There were also a few items like the Assassination Lapel Spike, S.O.E. Agents Concealment Key, Commando Garrote Wire, Protona Microphone Spy Watch Recorder and Royal Air Force Tunic Buttons with concealed compasses that look and function exactly like what you’d imagine given their names.
