The Herman Miller Aeron Chair is one of the most iconic pieces of furniture that’s ever been created. Now, more than two decades later, Herman Miller has remastered it. Outside of the fact it has that same striking silhouette we’re all familiar with, everything about this chair is new. It now comes in three sizes that are more responsive to individual body weight and there’s a new suspension system and tilt mechanism. The 8Z Pellicle elastomeric suspension seat and backrest has eight zones to envelop you when you sit for greater comfort and support. And this thing wasn’t thrown together overnight. Hell, they did over 500 iterations on the weave alone to get it just right. Being an icon doesn’t make the chair untouchable, but none of the updates feel tacked on or gimmicky. It’s a chair that treats its ancestor with respect while knowing there are always improvements to be found.
