For more than three decades, Swatch has churned out watches beloved by grade school kids and those looking for a solid, affordable watch. Amidst the funky patterns, fun collaborations and innovative tech that were hallmarks of the brand throughout the years, there was one watch that would ultimately become more iconic than the rest—the X-Rated. Originally produced in the late ’80s, the simple watch featured a black plastic band with a white face emblazoned with a giant X on it. It was so popular with the straight edge crowd back in the day that punk site The Hard Times published a piece from the perspective of the watch. The iconic watch that found fans from every walk of life is finally making a comeback in two different forms. The XX-Rated keeps the aesthetic of the original while also being available in red and purple. The X-District is a more modern re-imagining with two tone colorways and chronometer features. The XX-Rated and X-District are both up on the Swatch site now with an expected in-store release on 4/26.
