In 2002, Irvine Welsh, the author of Trainspotting, wrote a book titled Porno. It was a sequel to everyone’s favorite tale of misfit junkies, but it was mostly ignored by American audiences. Why? Well, A) It’s a tough to read if you aren’t good with accents, B) The title makes for a slightly awkward purchase and addition to a bookshelf, and C) We prefer to see our characters reach into dirty toilets, not read about them doing so.
