There are a lot of speakers you can put on display on in the home, office or on the go. There are your outdoor bluetooth speakers. There are your smart speakers. There are your speakers that think outside the box. To date, there has been no speaker like this steel speaker handcrafted by blacksmith Jonas Majors in his workshop on the island of Mörkö south of Stockholm. For starters, this speaker is one helluva beast that clocks in at over 20 kilograms, which is about 44lbs for those of us in the Western world. As Majors describes it, “It is supposed to manifest the power of our big speaker acoustic platform by its mere presence. The electronic appliance industry seems many times over crowded by black boxes. Therefore we saw it as our challenge to make the black box into a sculptural piece of craft that elevates a contemporary designed interior rather than violating it.” What does all of that mean in practice? An enormous, powerful and incredibly weighty speaker that’s as raw and durable as it is refined and skillfully crafted.
