Sony has a long history of developing products no one thought they needed, and the new Sony SRS-LSR200 Portable TV Speaker is the perfect example of that. Equal parts remote control and far-flung listening device, the SRS-LSR200 allows you to stay abreast of all your latest TV audio happenings while cooking dinner, using the bathroom or just being in the other room. In short, it kind of functions like the Roku app headphone functionality except you’ll keep getting all your important information over the air instead of having to wear headphones. And even better, you can change the channel, adjust the volume and easily carry the device from room to room without having to worry about Wi-Fi service interruptions. The Sony SRS-LSR200 Portable TV Speaker launches on February 22nd in Japan with an expected retail price of $180. No word yet on whether or not it will be released in the United States.
