Upgrade Your Vintage Bang & Olufsen Speakers With Beocreate

Upgrade Your Vintage Bang & Olufsen Speakers With Beocreate

Want to give your vintage Bang & Olufsen speakers a new lease on life? Check out the Beocreate 4 Channel amplifier. Developed by a team from Bang & Olufsen who worked with the audiophile builders at HiFiBerry, the Beocreate 4 Channel Amplifier is a DSP/DAC/amplifier combination board designed to upgrade your old school speakers with all the modern conveniences like wireless playback through Airplay, Bluetooth or Spotify Connect. This is where things get a little technical. This is only an amplifier, so you’re going to have to take apart your vintage speaker and install it yourself. Additionally, programming the DSP requires a Raspberry Pi. You’re going to have to bust out the soldering iron and some tools for a bit of hardware hacking, but the team at HiFiBerry has incredibly thorough instructions and videos to walk you through the process, and they’ve provided the software. If you’re looking for a weekend project that will only take a few hours and is only slightly more difficult than building a RetroPie setup to play old school video games, this is a project for you.
