The Classic Belt from Gustin is not overflowing with bells and whistles. It doesn’t have a set of handcuff keys inside. There isn’t a piece of sawblade, or a knife or piano wire stashed in its 12oz bridle leather confines. It doesn’t open bottles or cans. It doesn’t have a ridiculous clasp or stash cash, and it isn’t made of a recycled material. Those are all things that actually make us like this belt even more. It’s simple. Vegetable tanned leather from a US tannery that gets edged, burnished with beeswax and finished with an English point and a nickel-plated brass buckle. It looks fantastic right now–especially against a great pair of denim–but it will look even better over time as the leather edges. It’s not fancy, or filled with gadgets or even what we would consider fun. It’s Classic. At the end of the day, that’s good enough for any belt, let alone one that looks this good.
