Land Rover Is Restoring an Original Prototype for Their 70th Anniversary

Land Rover is pulling out all the stops when it comes to their 70th anniversary by fully restoring one of the three 1948 pre-production prototypes that started it all. Described by many as the most historically significant unrestored Land Rover ever, this vehicle was unearthed in a garden mere miles from the Solihull plant where it was originally built. What was originally a restoration project that never quite got started will ultimately lead to one of the most gorgeous restorations any of us has ever seen. The  dedicated restoration process will make it driveable again while still retaining original features like thicker aluminum body panels, galvanized chassis and a removable rear tub, along with preserving the patina that developed over the decades it was missing.
