As much as we love all the modern automobile options, vintage styling reigns supreme on the list when it comes to vehicles we want to own. But if you could, for instance, combine modern technology with vintage styling, we’d absolutely be on board. That’s where the Chevy 1962 E-10 Electric Concept that was recently unveiled at SEMA comes in. This project car started with the bones of a 1962 Chevy before being combined with the guts of the latest Chevy Bolt EV, two 60 kWh batteries and two electric motors to create a modern behemoth with old school style that outputs 450 horsepower to a 4L75-E four-speed automatic tranny. “The E-10 concept builds on the experience and momentum generated by last year’s eCOPO concept, taking the idea of a ‘crate’ electric propulsion system further by leveraging actual production components. It’s all still in the testing stage, but this concept brings the electric option for hot-rodders much closer to reality,” said Russ O’Blenes, Chevrolet’s director of performance variants, parts, and motorsports. In other words, this vehicle–despite not currently being available to the public–is the perfect combination of of modern tech and vintage style.
