What to Watch This Weekend: Godless

What to Watch This Weekend: Godless

With cable, Netflix, and internet options, finding the best thing to watch during your downtime is difficult. Instead of flipping through menus all weekend and settling on nothing, turn to What to Watch This Weekend, a series in which we give you our pick for the best new show or movie available.

The chaos of Black Friday has simmered down and you’re still quasi in a turkey coma. Know what that means? This weekend calls for a good binge. You’re in luck, as Netflix just dropped a fantastic new Original called Godless, a Western about a former gang member who stumbles upon a town populated by women after a mining accident killed all the husbands. Jeff Daniels plays the villain and, to no one’s surprise, he’s magnificent, which makes some of the longer episodes (they can hit 75 minutes) fly by. The Western seems like a dying breed, with few good examples released over the last decade, but Godless is a beacon of hope and it’s worth making a turkey and stuffing sandwich and enjoying a few episodes this weekend.
