Outside of the obvious health and safety implications, one of the biggest impacts COVID has had is a surge in online shopping and home deliveries. Wallpaper* Magazine commissioned designer Konstantin Grcic, electric car maker Polestar, aluminum producer Hydro and electric motorcycle pioneer CAKE to come up with a new, radically designed and engineered vehicle that completely rethought last mile deliveries when it came to urban infrastructure, mobility and sustainable transport. Re:Move is what the team came up with. Billed as “a dynamic, three-wheeled urban ‘sled,’ Re:Move is compact and mobile enough for most bike lanes, but big enough to handle a 606-pound payload.” In other words, Re:Move is essentially a stylish, elongated and capable three-wheeled scooter you can drive in the bike lane while you’re delivering up to 600lbs of cargo. That has to be a lot more efficient than Prime, FedEx and UPS vehicles constantly clogging up the road as they move a few houses at a time to deliver our packages. The fully-fledged and functional version of Re:Move will be unveiled in the fall, but additional details about the vehicle and its story will be unveiled later this month at SXSW.
