The McBoombox Is a Drink Tray Speaker

The McBoombox Is a Drink Tray Speaker

When most people are done with their McDonald’s disposable drink trays they just toss them in the recycling because they’ve served their purpose. But what if they had an alternative use, like a second life as a speaker? The McBoombox is a drink tray speaker built into the bottom of a fully functional tray. Once your drinks are out, flip the tray over, pop out the speakers and put your phone in. The sound level will increase around 200% because of the dual ten-sided cones lined with reflective material. The McDonald’s Boombox was a partnership between the golden arches in Canada, the University of Waterloo’s Audio Research Group and the industrial designers at Stacklab that was created to celebrate the 22nd birthday of the McFlurry. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to pick up a round of desserts and then enjoy beats in the park with the McBoombox unless you live in Canada.
