An Audi Designer Made a Better TIE Fighter for Darth Vader

We’ve long loved Audi vehicles for their blend of performance and sophisticated good looks. One of the many people responsible for those gorgeous beasts is Jason Battersby, an exterior automotive designer for the brand. When not helping craft the next Audi, Battersby moonlights as a designer for the Galactic Empire. Yup, Battersby designed ships for Sith Lords—or at least he designed one ship for one Sith Lord. Battersby’s TIE-X is his imagining of a better TIE Fighter for Darth Vader. The designer tried to make a ship that fights into the Star Wars universe while also creating something new. With a glowing red cockpit, a pair of blasters, and a menacing look, we think he succeeded.
