‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ Immersive Art Exhibit

Fifty years ago, one of the most compelling, original, and genre-defining sci-fi movies of all time hit theaters. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of 2001: A Space Odyssey, how would you like to step inside the penultimate scene? That’s right, for a limited time (4/8/18–5/28/18) the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in D.C. is home to an exhibition that allows you to enter the bright white hotel room from Stanley Kubrick’s iconic film. “The Barmecide Feast” by Hong Kong-based British artist Simon Birch was created in painstaking detail, so you can step inside the room and snap the sweetest selfie ever.
