If you think electrification is the future just for cars, you haven’t been paying attention to Zero Motorcycles. They’ve been around for thirteen years, having created daily usable bikes that run on quiet, torquey, plug-in power, and they’ve just debuted their next-gen motorcycle, the SR/F. The name isn’t especially thrilling, but the bike certainly is. First of all, it looks like an electric version of the legendary Ducati Monster, which is a great model to emulate. And not only does it produce prodigious power with 140 lb-ft of torque and 110 horses from its electric powertrain for pavement ripping (and gearless) acceleration and a 124 mph top end, it gets up to 200 miles of range on a full charge and even works with an available fast charger and Level 2 charging stations to juice up to nearly 100% in just an hour. Use its new Cypher III OS to select driving modes and even program your own, as well as get vital bike data sent automatically to your smartphone. No noise, no exhaust, and no vibration also equate to less fatigue in the saddle, which means more riding pleasure. The future, indeed.
