This year, Milan Design Week is going to be even more interesting than usual because Toyota is unveiling a new concept unlike anything you’ve seen on four wheels. Setsuna, which means “moment” in Japanese, is a unique wooden roadster with smooth lines and construction more reminiscent of a boat than a car. With unique details like a meter designed to track 100 years of time, multiple types and grains of Japanese wood and traditional Japanese joinery techniques like okuriari and kusabi that allow the wood to be joined without nails or screws, this fully-functional concept is one of the most refined automobiles we’ve ever seen.
