His name doesn’t carry the same weight as Ali or Tyson, but in his time—the late 1800s—James J. Corbett was the name in boxing. No simple brawler from the street, Gentleman Jim, as he was known, dressed-well and spoke-well but was a killer between the ropes. So is the case with this Gentleman Jim from Deus Ex Machina. Upon first glance, the bike, which is built on a 2008 Harley 1200 EFI Sportster, shares a lot of similarities to a sophisticated and leisurely British ride. But, as with old Jim Corbett, the bike is actually tough as nails. A Kawasaki sub-frame was severed and grafted on, 19″ front and 18″ rear wheels were added, a custom exhaust was tossed on, and the paint job wass inspired by the days of AMF Harley. It’s a brawler in a business suit.
