Scooters are vehicles born of convenience, not style. The badass Stator “self-balancing electric bike,” on the other hand, is one you’ll want to ride every day and show off to your friends. Power comes from a rear wheel direct drive 3-phase brushless DC motor with a max power of 1,000W, which gives it a top speed of 25 mph and a range of 20 miles. There are even customization options like a seat, utility racks, lights and a phone charger if you want to turn it into an apocalypse ready vehicle. From its minimal design to rugged durability, there are obviously quite a few impressive parts to the Stator scooter. We’re fans of all of that, but we’re most looking forward to being able to ride around on the 20″ wide standing platform without having to awkwardly configure our feet like some of the other scooter options out there. Stator is ramping up for a Kickstarter campaign in the future, so make sure you sign up on their site to get a notification when it’s available for pre-order.
