Peter Sellers’s 1961 Aston Martin DB4GT

Peter Sellers is the man you probably know best from Dr. Strangelove, The Pink Panther or one of his many other performances that led to him being considered one of the greatest comedians of all time. What you might not know is that he was a pretty passionate car collector, with more than twice as many cars as film credits. This 1961 Aston Martin DB4GT is one of the cars from his personal collection and one of only 75 examples ever produced. Originally used in the film The Wrong Arm of the Law that Sellers starred in, he loved driving the car so much that he purchased it after production wrapped. The lightweight aluminum body and shorter wheelbase gave the GT a leg up on the standard DB4 in terms of performance, but Sellers also had a 4-liter Lagonda Rapide block put in for some extra power. The car will cross the block at RM Sotheby’s London auction on September 5.
