The Land Rover 70th Anniversary celebration continues with the recently unveiled version of the Defender you see here. Following up the restoration of the original Land Rover prototype was going to be no small feat, but Jaguar Land Rover once again hit it out of the park with the limited-edition, high-performance Defender Works V8. Up to 150 of the “5.0-litre petrol V8 Defenders” are in the works and, according to JLR, it’s the “most powerful and fastest Defender ever created with 0-60mph in 5.6sec.” The return of the V8 Defender has been discussed by JLR for quite some time, and this new release with eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, updated brakes, handling kit and exclusive 18″ alloy wheels is the perfect addition to the fleet. Unfortunately, the badged 70th Edition Defender Works V8 editions are limited to the UK, so you’re going to have to get creative if you want one elsewhere.
