In 1951, Peters Walker and Whitehead won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Jaguar C-type, the first win for what would go on to develop into one of the most famed racing marquees. In honor of the 70th anniversary of that win, Jaguar is pulling out all the stops and taking things back to the beginning with eight new, hand-built versions of the legendary 1950s racing car that helped put them on the map in the first place. Each one of these pristine examples will be hand-built by the specialists at Jaguar Classic using a combination of CAD, engineering drawings and company records to insure absolute authenticity. What’s more, each of the vehicles includes a 220hp, 3.4-liter, inline-six engine with triple Weber 40DCO3 carburetors and disc brakes. Prices and availability for the Jaguar Classic C-Type Continuation Vehicles haven’t been released, but if you’re interested, you better reach out fast because these cars are incredibly limited.
