ICON 1000–the Portland-based maker of some of the finest motorcycle riding apparel and badass bikes out there—turned a 2011 Triumph Tiger 800XC into an apocalypse-taming steed named Dromedarii. The aptly named bike (Dromedarii is also the name of the camel riding auxiliary forces used in the Late Roman Empire where horses weren’t common.) was a collaboration between Icon 1000 and Triumph that involved everything from stripping off all the plastic and replacing it with steel cages and plates to protect engine components to creating a bespoke oversized fuel tank and adding auxiliary Rotopax fuel cells to increase distance. You’ll also find an Ohlins stiffened suspension, Conti TKC80 rubber, a raised subframe, PIAA HID lighting combined with a Ballistic lithium battery and front and rear racks for gear. The Dromedarii is built for the apocalypse.
