This Husqvarna Is Equipped With Skis

Originally developed in 1968 for the Swedish Defense Force, the Husqvarna 256 is a little dirt bike that came with skis. Only 1,000 of them were ever produced, so when Johan Nordin of Stockholm-based 6/5/4 Motors managed to get his hands on one he made sure to make it special. Named “Thage,” after his father who had one during his military service, the bike leverages all of the 6/5/4 design chops and expertise without sacrificing any of the aspects that made this bike so cool in the first place. The first thing you’ll notice is the former military service vehicle has been given an all black paint job from the tank to the engine and everything in between. They also fitted new shocks, brakes, MX bars, headlight, tail light and an exhaust. The skis remain intact, but riding them is easier said than done, as Nordin explains. “The skis automatically spring up if they are not pushed down. You push them down using your feet.” Here’s hoping Nordin reports back once he’s actually tested this in the snow.
