Since it’s built with a 3AL 2.5V titanium alloy, twin-tube cantilever frame that weighs under 4lbs, it should come as no surprise that the Budnitz Model E is the world’s lightest electric bike. And while the belt drive, ZeHus Bike+ all-in-one single speed rear hub (capable of electric assist up to 15mph for 100 miles) and the optional Brooks add-ons are all great, it’s what’s missing that truly makes this bike exceptional. You won’t find big power boxes, batteries or extra cables hanging anywhere and disrupting the clean lines or riding experience, because all the e-bike technology is integrated into the rear hub. Each bike is custom built depending on the rider at the Budnitz studio in Burlington, Vermont, so you have plenty of extra options when it comes to fit, finish, accessories and construction (chromoly steel is also an option).
