1957 Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk III Auction

Catching a quick glimpse of that unique, almost marine animal mouth grill in the rearview mirror or in incoming traffic is all it takes to know there’s an Aston Martin around. That grill style has defined the brand’s cars for half a century, and now you have the chance to own one of the cars it first appeared on. As part of their 2020 Paris auction in February, RM Sotheby’s is auctioning off a pristine 1957 Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk III. This excellent example of an Aston from the David Brown years is also the first model to feature the Tadek Marek redesigned 2.9-liter inline-six based on the Bentley design of previous years that’s outputting a reported 162 hp. Even though it’s getting on in age, it’s still capable of hitting a top speed of 120 mph and gets to 60 in about ten seconds. But this isn’t a car you buy for performance numbers, it’s a rolling work of art as beautiful and impressive as anything we’ve ever seen in a gallery.
