This Card Game Is Based on a CIA Training Game

Believe it or not, the Central Intelligence Agency uses board games as training exercises. Thanks to a FOIA request from MuckRock, Collection Deck–a collectible card game shown in a presentation at South by Southwest–was declassified and made available to the public. The game that was originally classified as Top Secret was designed by CIA Analyst David Clopper and made to teach new recruits about intelligence collection techniques. Thanks to that FOIA request, and the hard work of the Techdirt and Diegetic Games teams, it’s now available in a form that’s as easy to play as Cards Against Humanity and far more entertaining in the long run. With a whole host of technique, threat and reality check cards, this is a game that will have you defusing crises, entangling opponents and brushing up on your intelligence skills while still holding a beer and having a great evening with your friends. We’d even go so far as to say that this is a modern card game that doesn’t suck. CIA: Collect It All is expected to be delivered to backers in November of this year.
