Ballantine’s, the same company that makes one of our favorite blended Scotch whiskies, in collaboration with the Open Space Agency has created a whisky glass designed specifically to work in space. Let that sink in for a minute. On Earth, having a nice stiff drink is as simple as pulling or twisting, pouring and enjoying. It’s obviously not that easy when you put liquids in zero gravity. Ballantine’s Space Glass is an engineering marvel that uses a stainless base plate covered in rose gold to increase surface tension and a medical grade 3D-printed thermoplastic with a special spiral channel etched inside to guide the whisky to the cold touch mouth clip where it will transfer into your body without feeling like you’re drinking from a sippy cup. This is essentially whisky rocket science.
