Named in honor of British military officers stationed at Roorkhee in India, the Roorkhee Chair has been a military classic because it’s lightweight, highly portable, very strong and comfortable. This is not that chair. The Nomad Chair is a rediscovered Scandinavian classic inspired by the Roorkhee Chair. The Nomad Chair is constructed with a series of turned bamboo plywood parts that are assembled without glue, but held together with a combination of leather straps and a canvas seat and back. When you sit in the chair, all these parts work together to keep the entire chair in place while also allowing the chair to adjust to uneven ground and remain stable. Best of all, the Nomad Chair is super portable and can be assembled or disassembled in seconds.
