The LEDs In Dyson’s New Lamp Last 37 Years

The LEDs In Dyson’s New Lamp Last 37 Years

Dyson, the company best known for making vacuum cleaners into desirable objects, is doing the same for the humble desk lamp. The Dyson CSYS Task Light features a unique cooling system that allows its LEDs to last an astonishing 37 years. For comparison’s sake, LEDs in standard lamps last anywhere from 5-17 years. And while the lifespan of the bulbs is the revolutionary part, the lamp also happens to feature 3 axis glide motion; touch-sensitive, continuous dimming; and a modern, clean design. The lights, which have been under development for a decade, are available now in two colors, and an overhead model with the same technology is on its way.
