When we think of a lounge chair, we think of kicking back with a bag of chips and a cold one and being as inactive as possible. That’s why we’re intrigued by the Pack Horse from designer Michael Cooper. The Pack Horse is an “active” lounge chair. What does that mean? Well, its clever features lend a hand whether you’re looking to write, draw, read, play an instrument, or don some headphones and take in some vinyl. A bookshelf is integrated around the exterior of the base, so your favorite reads are always at hand. A secret storage space under the seat holds drawing pads, pens and pencils, and whatever else you need on hand for your creative pursuits. There’s even a strap-down space for a blanket and a rope-stitched magazine rack. Sure you could binge The Americans sitting in the Pack Horse, but we’d encourage you to create something when you plop down.
