Sooner or later, we’re all going to die. It’s just a fact of life. Depending on religious customs, personal beliefs and the budget, there are a lot of options for what happens after the Irish wake and/or Viking funeral. You could be immortalized with a lavish headstone. You could have your ashes blown out of cannon like Johnny Depp did for Hunter S. Thompson. And now, thanks to Mesoloft, you also have the options to have cremated blasted into space. Technically, your ashes or the ashes of your loved ones will be blasted above the planet into near space, but almost 15 miles above the planet is close enough to space for us. Once the ashes are released, they’ll drift in the upper atmosphere for months before falling back to earth to settle wherever the wind takes them. Even though it’s only ashes going to space, it’s still not cheap–but it’s also nowhere near as expensive as the $3 million that Depp spent on the cannon.
