Universal Pictures recently announced that the Coen Brothers are writing the Scarface remake. Yes, that’s right. After years of rumors, stars and directors attached to the project, it’s finally greenlit again with the No Country For Old Men, True Grit and The Big Lebowski guys responsible for reworking the script. Additional details are scarce, but we do know a few things. There’s still no word on who’s directing. It’s going to be produced by Martin Bregman, who produced the 1983 version with Pacino that you still love to this day. As for stars, the only one rumored to be attached is Diego Luno from Star Wars Rogue One in the role of Tony Montana. We’d watch any version of this story or any movie written by the Coen Brothers, so we’re pretty damn excited about what the studio is calling “an explosive re-imagining” of the iconic film.
