Before The Rock dropped The People’s Elbow, Bret Hart locked in a Sharpshooter, and Stone Cold ripped open a beer, there was a wrestler who was truly larger than life. Andre the Giant, the wrestler turned actor, was, perhaps, the first true wrestling superstar. Now, thanks to HBO and Bill Simmons, the late giant is getting the documentary treatment he deserved. Announced in a Tweet from Simmons, the documentary will be a collaborative effort between HBO, the WWE, Simmons, and Jason Hehir, a writer/director behind the smash-hit 30 for 30 series. No other details have been revealed yet, but the project has the right people behind it to make it must-see TV. We’ll get you more info when we have it.
