Chris McVeigh–aka Power Pig Productions–is an author, illustrator, photographer and, to really sell the whole modern Renaissance man thing, an avid LEGO builder. McVeigh doesn’t just put the sets together as LEGO intended, he designs, builds and sells his own cool custom LEGO sets that focus on everyday items. We’re talking about vintage ’80s TVs, old school Apple computers, boomboxes, Nintendo, ancient office desks, Bonsai trees, SLR film cameras, the whole nine yards. If it’s vintage, cool and can be built with a collection of tiny building bricks, you can bet that McVeigh has found a way to make a kit. There’s even a modular arcade set that lets you build your own miniature game room without a huge investment in space or money. Each kit includes all the pieces you’ll need to build your new model, with instruction manuals delivered digitally by the artist. Should you happen to have a huge collection of LEGO blocks already, the instructions are also available for free direct from his site here.
