PUMA and Porsche have recently collaborated on a new sneaker to celebrate the 1911 Carrera RS 2.7. This legendary car was first released in 1972 and quickly became stuff of legends. The 1911 had all the makings for a success: a light, speedy thing with sexy lines and a dash of European irreverence that made Porsche a household name.
Now, PUMA’s limited edition sneaker takes many of these elements and applies them to their classic sneaker. Red leather lines and laces contrast against the white upper and sole to make this a classic combination. It’s subtle and made for everyday wear, with only the slightest bit of cobranding at the heel. With only 500 units made, these bad boys have gone fast – but the resale market is looking good. Just put some pedal to the metal if you see them listed anywhere. They’re sure to be an instant classic, just as the 1911 was 50 years ago.
