The green crocodile on a Lacoste polo is one of the most iconic brand marks in clothing. Now, after 85 years, Lacoste is giving the croc a breather—but for good reason. A limited capsule collection sees the crocodile replaced on each shirt by one of ten different endangered species. “Save Our Species” is a partnership with the International Union for Conservation of Nature and a portion of the proceeds will go toward preservation of the animals seen on the shirts. You can choose from the Sumatran Tiger, the California Condor, the Cyclone of Anegada, and more. To further highlight the issues, the number of shirts available correspond to the number of these animals in the wild, meaning less than 2,000 total polos are being made, and also meaning certain ones will be produced in lesser quantities. If you want one, we’d recommend acting quickly.
