The Lacoste brand has been around since 1933, but this special set of polo shirts marks the first occasion when other animals will take center stage for the brand’s logo. The brand will hold a special event with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) via a capsule collection known as “Save Our Species” that contains 10 limited-edition polo shirts showcasing 10 threatened animal species.
These include such rarities as the Yemeni Mouse-Tailed Bat (150 specimens remaining), Moheli Scops Owl (400 left), and the Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat (115 left), to name a few. Each polo shirt costs about $170, and every penny of the profits will go to animal conservation efforts. Only one animal will be sold at each store including Berlin, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Paris, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo, and the Lacoste online only on May 22nd. You’ll be happy to know your purchase helps seriously endangered creatures, and you get a great, limited-edition polo shirt. We might just head to Miami to get our favorite, the Mountain Chicken, which is actually a frog.
